Welcome to The Maple Cottage Guest House Tour Page.  Maple Cottage was built in 1855 and is thought to have been constructed by island builder George Gascoyne.
Only eight families have owned and occupied the house since that time. It has always been a boarding house or inn of some kind. It originally was called Maple Cottage Guest House and the present owner has returned to that name.
The house is cozy and warmly appointed. The guest rooms are comfortable and you truly will believe you are staying at a friend's island home.

Maple Cottage has been well maintained over the years and is an island landmark.
We are located virtually around the corner from downtown and two minutes from all the downtown Put-in-Bay restaurants, night clubs and shops.
There are many attraction and things to do and see on the island, including the Perry Memorial, The Lake Erie Islands Historical Museum and several historic homes and a wildlife museum.

Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial was opened in 1915 and commemorates the lasting peace between the United States and Canada along the longest peaceful border in the world.
Commodore Perry defeated the British Navy just 10 miles off the western shore of South Bass Island (Put-in-Bay).

Every Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. year-round and summer island residents get their antique and classic vehicles out of the garage for a drive around the island in the weekly Sunday Afternoon Antique Car Parade.
Many times more than 50 vehicles participate in the weekly event that circles the downtown park.
